Kyiv Transport Routes to Shift for Weekend Markets and Repairs: Dates and Detours Announced

Зміни в маршрутах транспорту Києва: нові розкладки для вихідних ярмарків і ремонту доріг.

Public Transport Route Changes in Kyiv

Kyiv's public transport network will see temporary adjustments this weekend due to food markets on May 2 and 3, alongside a separate suspension of route No. 4-T until June 27 for rail bridge repairs. These changes aim to accommodate community events and essential infrastructure work.

The route modifications will take place over the weekend. Markets are scheduled on Holosiivska, Tatarska, Yordanska, Serzha Lyfaria, and Ihor Yukhnovsky streets. Specifically, from the start of service until the markets close on Saturday, May 2, buses and trolleybuses will follow revised paths. On that day, changes affect buses No. 39, 98, 110 and trolleybus No. 34.

  • Bus No. 39 will run: Holosiivskyi Avenue - Nauky Avenue - Lysogirska Street (to the transport interchange at the intersection with Rakena and Panoramna streets) - Lysogirska Street - Lysogirskyi Lane. The return direction remains unchanged.
  • Bus No. 98 will follow: Radunska Street - Budyshchanska Street - Honore de Balzac Street (odd side) - Oleksandry Ekster Street - Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue - Serzha Lyfaria Street - Pukhivska Street - TEC-6.
  • Bus No. 110 will operate: Radunska Street (in the opposite direction: Radunska Street - Liskivska Street - Myloslavska Street) - Gradynska Street - Honore de Balzac Street, even side (in the opposite direction: odd side) - Oleksandry Ekster Street - Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue - Serzha Lyfaria Street - Mykoly Zakrevskoho Street, then along its own route to Ploshcha Ukrainskykh Heroiv metro station.
  • Trolleybus No. 34 will run from Pivnichna Street to Stepana Bandery Avenue.

On Sunday, May 3, public transport will be reorganized for buses No. 31, 110, and 112. Bus No. 31 will operate: Politekhnichnyi Instytut metro station - Beresteiskyi Avenue - Bohdana Havrylyshyna Street - Mytrofana Dovnar-Zapolskoho Street - Dehtyarivska Street - Biloruska Street - Derevlyanska Street - Yuriya Illienka Street - Akademika Romodanova Street - Zahorivska Street - Knyazya Volodymyra Monomakha Street - Tatarska Street. Buses No. 110 and 112 will run from Ploshcha Ukrainskykh Heroiv and Lukianivska metro stations to Raiduzhna Street along their usual routes, then continue via Ivana Mykytenka Street - Sirozhupannykiv Street - Ihor Yukhnovsky Street; the return direction remains unchanged.

Additionally, bus route No. 4-T will be temporarily suspended until June 27. This is due to repair work on a railway bridge between Pochaina and Raiduzhnyi stations, changes to the city electric train service, and a drop in passenger numbers. Ukrzaliznytsia is also restructuring its operations in Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Poltava regions by launching faster regional trains on the most popular routes.

These public transport adjustments reflect the city's current needs, balancing social events like markets with necessary infrastructure repairs to improve long-term service.

The suspension of route No. 4-T until mid-summer may affect travel convenience for Kyiv residents and visitors, especially during the summer season when passenger traffic typically increases. At the same time, the introduction of express regional trains aims to ease interregional travel, which could positively impact overall traffic flow in the region.

As the city prepares for these transport changes, it's essential to stay informed about other ongoing modifications in Kyiv. Starting April 30, residents will encounter restrictions on pedestrian bridges, which could further impact travel plans.
