Blasts in Occupied Crimea
On the night of June 7, explosions and gunfire erupted across several cities in occupied Crimea. Two oil depots were struck, sparking alarm among local residents. The partisan group Atesh reported blasts near an oil depot in Feodosia, noting that similar explosions were also heard in Sevastopol and Dzhankoy.
Around 2:30 a.m. local time, community channels reported sounds of explosions in Simferopol. There were also indications of a possible strike on an oil depot in the settlement of Lenino. Monitoring sources suggest that drones and missiles may have been deployed. Separately, on June 3, Crimea experienced another series of explosions, with air defense activity and blast noises recorded in Sevastopol, Simferopol, and near military airfields at Belbek, Saky (Novofedorivka), and Gvardiyske.
Ukrainian Military Takes Control
The 3rd Special Purpose Regiment named after Prince Sviatoslav the Brave announced that Ukrainian forces have established aerial dominance over a portion of the Russians' land route to Crimea.
Operators of the 3rd Special Operations Forces Regiment have taken air control over part of the occupiers' land route to Crimea. Drones from the SOF unit are destroying equipment and disrupting enemy logistics along the Melitopol–Chonhar corridor.
Cities where explosions were recorded include:
- Feodosia
- Sevastopol
- Dzhankoy
- Simferopol
- Lenino settlement
Military airfields where blasts were also heard:
- Belbek
- Saky (Novofedorivka)
- Gvardiyske
These events point to an escalation of the conflict in occupied Crimea, where partisan groups and Ukrainian military activity continue to intensify. The focus on crippling enemy logistics and strategic targets may signal a new phase in the struggle for control over the region. This situation could significantly impact the broader military landscape in Ukraine and the dynamics between Kyiv and Moscow.
The recent incidents in Crimea are part of a broader pattern of escalating tensions, as evidenced by a series of explosions during a large-scale drone offensive that occurred just days prior. These developments highlight the intensifying conflict and the strategic importance of air control in the region, suggesting that the situation may continue to evolve rapidly in the coming days.
