Attacker Detained in Lviv
On April 2, authorities in Lviv detained a man who fatally stabbed a serviceman from the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC). The victim, Oleg Avdieiev, was attacked around 14:15 on Patona Street, where an assailant stabbed him in the neck. Avdieiev later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Police in the Lviv region swiftly arrested the attacker, identified as Andrii Trush, a 1991-born Lviv resident who works for the Lviv Customs Service. On the U.S. political scene, President Donald Trump dismissed Attorney General Pam Bondi. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as acting attorney general. The Ukrainian government also approved an experimental project for educational grants in the defense-industrial complex and other priority sectors. The project's goal is to help enterprises train specialists. State support will amount to:
- up to 30,000 hryvnias for obtaining a full professional qualification;
- up to 15,000 hryvnias for a partial one.
As Yuliia Svyrydenko noted, 'Ukraine already has a tool for supporting training through vouchers and retraining; now the government is strengthening the link between state support and the specific demand of an employer.'
