Accidents at work in Poland: statistics and risks

According to Polish statistics, only in the first half of last year, there were over 30 thousand workplace accidents.

Among them:

  • 80 cases resulted in death

  • 219 — serious injuries

  • 111 incidents occurred during remote work.

The most dangerous industries remain:

  • mining industry

  • water supply and waste management

  • healthcare and social assistance.

The highest injury rates have been recorded in Opole, Silesian, and Warmian-Masurian voivodeships.

The increase in benefits is associated with the rise in the number of workplace injuries and the need to strengthen social protection for employees. For Ukrainians working in Poland, these changes are also relevant, as they fall under the local labor legislation.

As a reminder, in 2025, the number of foreigners working legally in Poland increased by nearly 100 thousand and reached about 1.29 million people.
