After the report of suspected cholera, confirmed by two different laboratories, three measures were taken. First, treatment for the patient, who is receiving dialysis. Second, preventive measures to prevent the spread of the disease among the population. Third, conducting an epidemiological investigation, - said the Chief Sanitary Inspector of Poland.
The patient is being treated in a hospital in the city of Szczecin, where a press conference was held regarding the cholera outbreak. The results of the PCR molecular test confirmed the diagnosis. Sanitary and epidemiological services are conducting an environmental analysis to determine the cause of the infection. The patient herself claims that she has not traveled abroad and has not had contact with potential sources of infection.
