Starting January 20, the cost of travel to the capital has increased on several suburban routes in the Kyiv region. The biggest price hikes were for trips from Boyarka and Vyshneve. This is reported by Hmarochos.
In particular, the fare for minibus No. 720 from Boyarka to Kyiv is now 75 hryvnias, and from Vyshneve - 60 hryvnias. Local Telegram channels from Boyarka and Vyshneve also report the fare increases.
Fare Increase in Suburban Minibuses in Kyiv Region
Besides route No. 720, price increases have also been recorded on several other popular routes. The changes have affected the routes regularly used by residents of the suburbs to get to the metro.
Currently, the fares are as follows:
-
route No. 720 Boyarka - Kyiv: 75 hryvnias;
-
minibuses from Vyshneve to Kyiv: 60 hryvnias;
-
routes No. 716, 721, 742, 796, 301: fares have increased;
-
Sofiivska Borshchahivka - metro 'Akademmistet' : 50 hryvnias.
The fare within Kyiv on these minibuses is 20 hryvnias.
Price Contrast with Municipal Transport in Kyiv
The previous fare increase on western routes occurred at the beginning of 2025. At that time, the fare from Vyshneve rose from 35 to 50 hryvnias, while minibuses from Irpen and Bucha raised their prices to 50-60 hryvnias.
Current fares sharply contrast with the cost of trips on municipal transport in the capital. A single ticket for the metro, bus, tram, or trolleybus costs 8 hryvnias, while purchasing 50 trips brings it down to 6.50 hryvnias each. The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, previously stated that fares for municipal transport will not be reviewed until the end of the war.
Let us remind you that a new tram route to Bucha will appear in Kyiv by 2027.
