Strike on Sloviansk
In the early hours of 31 August, at about 4:20, Russian forces used a FAB-500 bomb to strike central Sloviansk. The blast wounded four civilians who were in their homes. The victims, aged 61 to 66, are being treated for blast injuries, bruising, and lacerations, according to the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office. On 30 August, Russian forces killed five residents of the Donetsk region: two in Bylbasivka, and one each in Kramatorsk, Starovarvarivka, and Stepanivka. Six more residents were wounded over the past day, according to Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
This was the second air attack on Sloviansk in August. On 24 August, a previous Russian aerial strike left seven people injured, including a 16-year-old boy.
