The National Trust for Historic Preservation has decided to confront President Trump's administration. According to ABC News, the organization has filed a lawsuit aimed at halting the construction of a ballroom on the White House grounds, which they believe violates the historical status of the building.

The lawsuit states that the president cannot simply change the appearance of a national historic monument without proper approval and consideration of public opinion. They demand a halt to construction and a return of the White House to its original state.

In this case, the interests of historical monuments will be represented by well-known lawyer Gregg Craig, who previously worked in the White House under the Clinton and Obama administrations. In addition to the president, some agencies and institutions of the US government are also named as defendants in the case.

Earlier, President Trump announced a fundraising campaign for the construction of the ballroom in the White House, claiming that this project would be the best in the world. It is worth noting that the funds for construction and repairs will not come from the country's budget but from private donations.
