In Ternopil, new trolleybuses produced in Lviv «Electron» are set to be put on city routes soon. This is the first large-scale procurement of new electric transport for the city in the last 15 years. The city of Ternopil's website reports this.
What the new trolleybuses in Ternopil will be like
The city received a batch of 17 modern low-floor trolleybuses designed for 106 passengers.
The interior includes:

air conditioning;

heating system;

USB charging;
-
GPS trackers;
-
ramps for people with disabilities;

a «kneeling» system for convenient passenger boarding.
The transport is also adapted for people with limited mobility and passengers in wheelchairs.
When will the new trolleybuses hit the routes
According to Serhiy Nadal, some of the new trolleybuses are already undergoing testing and branding.
The first vehicles are planned to be released on the routes of Ternopil as early as May 2026.
The city expects to fully complete the delivery of all 17 trolleybuses by the end of August.

The city council emphasizes that the new electric transport is expected to improve comfort and the quality of transportation in Ternopil.
The new trolleybuses meet modern safety and energy efficiency requirements and are also expected to enhance the accessibility of public transport for various categories of passengers.
Let us remind you that preparations are being made in Ternopil for another review of public transport fares. Carriers have submitted calculations according to which the cost of one trip may increase to 26–32 hryvnias; however, the city council is currently considering a compromise option with lower fares.
