Energy Efficiency Overhaul at Preschool No. 7 'Dzvinochok'

The city of Truskavets has completed a major energy efficiency renovation at Preschool No. 7 'Dzvinochok'. This project, funded by the European Investment Bank under the 'Ukraine Recovery Urgent Credit Program', has transformed the building into a more energy-efficient facility, significantly improving conditions for both children and staff.

Project Details

Kindergarten No. 7 'Dzvinochok' currently serves 98 children, including 19 from internally displaced families. The facility employs 35 staff members and operates six groups, one of which is a speech therapy group.

Key upgrades carried out as part of the renovation included:

  • Insulation of the facade, basement, and attic;
  • Replacement of the roofing;
  • Installation of a lightning protection system;
  • Modernization of drainage and water management systems.

The total cost of the project exceeded 17 million hryvnias, with funding drawn from both national and local budgets. As a result of the reconstruction, the building is now warmer, more modern, and more comfortable for nearly 100 children. These improvements are expected to drastically reduce energy consumption, lower maintenance costs, and ensure a stable indoor temperature throughout the year.

The energy modernization of 'Dzvinochok' preschool marks a significant step forward in improving Ukraine’s educational infrastructure, especially amid the ongoing challenges of war and internal displacement. Upgrading such facilities helps create a safe and comfortable environment for children, which is critical for their development and well-being.

This project also highlights the successful collaboration between state authorities and international financial institutions, setting a potential model for future initiatives in social infrastructure.
