Gamification Goes Live in the Mriia App
Ukraine's Mriia app is introducing a pilot gamification system in which students can earn 'Mriiky,' an in-app currency, for completing learning activities and spend it on real prizes offered by partner organizations. The first 100 schools to take part in the trial will be those that sign up for the initiative. The project is run by Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation and Ministry of Education and Science, together with the EGAP Program, which is implemented by the East Europe Foundation and supported by Switzerland.

Children will accumulate Mriiky by completing homework, watching educational videos, and taking part in other beneficial activities. The app will also feature 'Kmitlyvky,' short daily quizzes designed to make learning feel like a game. Earned Mriiky can be redeemed in the 'Kramnychka' store, where students can choose from prizes such as:
- movie tickets
- VR quests
- masterclasses
- tutoring sessions
- certificates for books or toys
- other development and leisure opportunities
