Ukrainian Football Association Publishes €19.3 Million Annual Financial Report

Andriy Shevchenko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), has released the organization's financial results for the past year, revealing total expenditures of €19.3 million. The report details how these funds were allocated and also includes comments on the status of the national team's head coach and the potential return of Russian teams to FIFA competitions. This financial transparency comes as Ukrainian football continues to operate under the immense challenges of wartime.

The UAF's key financial figures show the following spending categories:

  • €4.1 million was directed towards youth and women's football, as well as children's and youth national teams.
  • Maintaining the Football House, UAF operations, and staff salaries cost €3.8 million.
  • The senior men's national team required €2.9 million in funding.
  • Referee training, the referee committee, and arbitration accounted for €3.2 million.
  • Expenses for association governance, management bodies, and committees totaled €2.3 million.
  • €1.6 million was spent on grassroots football, social projects, and regional development programs.

Addressing other matters, Shevchenko confirmed that Serhiy Rebrov remains the head coach of the Ukrainian national team. He also stated that the FIFA Council is not currently considering reinstating the rights of Russian teams, indicating the ongoing restrictions will continue. In sporting news, Ukraine's 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff semi-final is scheduled for March 26, 2026, against Sweden. A victory would see them face the winner of the Poland vs. Albania match in the final.

The Ukrainian national team recently began its 2026 World Cup qualification campaign with a crucial 5-3 away victory over Iceland. Both teams entered the match level on points, making the win essential for Ukraine's hopes of reaching the tournament. Two second-half goals secured the important result for the Ukrainian side.

The UAF's financial report demonstrates the association's active work in developing football at all levels, including youth and women's teams. Investments in the national team and refereeing indicate a focus on enhancing the competitiveness of Ukrainian football internationally. While the situation regarding the return of Russian teams to tournaments remains complex, Ukraine continues its active preparations for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
