On the night of August 24, Russia suffered a powerful drone attack that targeted several regions of the country. The largest Russian port Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region and the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region were affected. The attacks lasted for hours and were accompanied by strong explosions, as reported by local authorities and the media.

The governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, confirmed that ten drones were shot down near Ust-Luga, but debris from one of them caused a fire at the 'Novatek' company's terminal. It took several hours to extinguish the fire, but the incident caused serious material damage.

The Syzran plant in the Samara region also suffered, leading to the introduction of the 'Carpet' closed sky mode. Massive explosions and fires were the result of this attack.

Powerful explosions also occurred in other regions of Russia as a result of drone attacks. A drone damaged a transformer at the Kursk nuclear power plant, seven explosions were reported in Stary Oskol, and targets were attacked in Bryansk on the ground. In the Tver and Smolensk regions, authorities reported 'successful air defense operations', although local residents testified about drones hitting civilian objects.

It is worth noting that earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Russian port of 'Olya', resulting in the sinking of a vessel carrying military cargo from Iran.

On the night of August 24, Russia became the target of a large-scale drone attack that damaged several regions of the country, resulting in serious material losses and triggering massive explosions. The attacks were so serious that some areas even introduced closed sky modes.
