Ukrainian Officials Meet Raytheon Representatives
Ukraine is pushing to secure additional Patriot interceptor missiles before winter while also negotiating a joint production agreement. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky and Acting Defense Minister Yevheniy Khmara held discussions with Raytheon executives, including the vice president for land and air defense and the company’s Ukraine-based director. The talks centered on accelerating missile deliveries for Patriot systems ahead of the cold season and scaling up manufacturing to strengthen Ukraine’s domestic defense industry.
“We focused on how to rapidly increase Patriot missile supplies before winter, expand production capacity, and make Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex even more formidable. Our goal is not only to meet Ukraine’s needs but also to weave its defense capabilities into the global security framework,” Koretsky stated.
Joint Production and International Cooperation
A separate track of negotiations covered co-producing air-defense systems, a priority raised by the Ukrainian and U.S. presidents during their meeting in Ankara. The American side outlined concrete steps to move this initiative forward. Koretsky affirmed that the Ukrainian government would do everything necessary to launch the work as quickly as possible. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky had also coordinated with Raytheon’s team on interceptors for the Patriot system.
