Ukrainian Agricultural Exports for January 2026
In January 2026, Ukraine exported a total of 5 million tons of agricultural products, representing a slight 0.8% decrease from the previous month. However, grain exports showed strong growth, increasing by 13% month-on-month to reach 3.4 million tons. Within this grain volume, corn constituted the vast majority at 83%, while wheat accounted for 16%.
Despite the positive performance in grains, other agricultural categories experienced significant declines. Exports of oilseeds plummeted by 32%, totaling 351.7 thousand tons. The composition of these oilseed exports was dominated by:
- Soybeans - 63%
- Rapeseed - 35%
Furthermore, exports of vegetable oils contracted by 6% to 479.7 thousand tons, with sunflower oil making up 82% of this total.
Challenges in the Processing Sector
The situation in the processed products sector was similarly negative. Exports of oilseed meal fell by 32%, reaching 411 thousand tons, of which 73% was sunflower meal. Additionally, exports of other agricultural products dropped by 15% to approximately 350 thousand tons. These figures point to challenging conditions for the Ukrainian agricultural sector at the start of 2026. Ukraine is a major global supplier of these commodities, and such shifts can impact international markets.
The decline in exports of oilseeds and processed products highlights serious challenges for Ukraine's agricultural sector, which could have broader implications for the country's overall economy.
