President Zelenskyy's Briefing on Long-Range Sanctions

On June 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received a report from Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) Oleh Ivashchenko, focusing on the implementation of long-range sanctions against Russia. The briefing highlighted key Ukrainian operations, including the elimination of more than 60,000 tons of ammunition at a Baltic Fleet arsenal near St. Petersburg. Zelenskyy emphasized that these results demonstrate the effectiveness of sanctions aimed at weakening the aggressor's military capabilities.

Additionally, Ukraine's defense forces struck Russian enterprises involved in manufacturing electronics and other components for the Russian military. Intelligence also obtained internal Russian documents containing a realistic assessment of the impact of Ukraine's long-range sanctions. 'The intelligence service also secured internal Russian documents with a genuine evaluation of the consequences of Ukraine's long-range sanctions. We have also recorded the Russian leadership's response measures to the situation. One such measure is the relocation of air defense systems from Russian regions to Moscow and the Kerch Bridge,' Zelenskyy stated.

Drone Attack on Moscow and Russian Missile Production Status

On the night of June 18, Moscow experienced one of its largest drone attacks, with over 180 drones launched. A primary target was the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district, marking the second strike on the facility within a week. Commenting on the situation for the first time after the mass attack, Vladimir Putin asserted that 'the Russian air defense system demonstrates high performance.'

A separate part of the briefing addressed the state of Russian missile production and strategic aviation. Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is preparing new responses to Russia's prolongation of the war and strikes on Ukrainian territory. 'It is crucial that as many Russians as possible understand that the war is being prolonged precisely by the Russian leadership's refusal to engage in diplomacy. Ukraine has provided substantive diplomatic proposals,' he added.

The ongoing events in Ukraine and Russia indicate an intensification of hostilities and further escalation of the conflict. The imposition of sanctions and strikes on strategic targets inside Russia underscore Ukraine's intent to reduce the aggressor's military capacity. At the same time, the Russian leadership's reaction to these actions reveals internal challenges and potential vulnerabilities, which could shape the future trajectory of military operations in the region.

As Ukraine continues its strategic efforts against Russian military capabilities, the situation remains tense, especially following the recent reports of extensive drone attacks on Moscow.
