A Week of Russian Assaults: Key Numbers

According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has provided a grim weekly tally of Russian aggression, reporting that nearly 2,000 drones and missiles were launched against Ukraine. According to him, occupying forces are heavily relying on unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles in an attempt to exhaust Ukraine's air defense systems and destroy critical energy infrastructure.

Over the past seven days, Russian forces deployed 1,920 attack drones, primarily Shahed models and their variants. Additionally, they used 1,790 guided aerial bombs (KABs), which are being dropped en masse on frontline cities, towns, and Ukrainian military positions. The occupiers also fired 17 missiles of various types, both ballistic and cruise, targeting deep rear areas of the country.

Urgent Need to Bolster Defenses

In his address, Zelenskyy stressed the importance of strengthening countermeasures against Russian strikes.

“We are preparing for meetings with partners to enhance our protection against this Russian terror. Upcoming summits include the G7, the EU, and NATO. It is crucial that these talks result in concrete decisions,”

the president emphasized. He also highlighted the critical need for support for air defense systems and long-range weaponry.

“Above all, we need support for our air defense and long-range capabilities, expanding cooperation under the Drone Deals format, and further increasing sanctions pressure on Russia. We must end this war with dignity and guaranteed security,”

Zelenskyy added.

Looking ahead, the Ukrainian delegation is set to participate in summits of the Group of Seven (G7), the European Union, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). These meetings hold significant potential for securing new decisions to support Ukraine amid escalating threats from Russia. Key targets for Ukrainian forces included facilities in Russia's Yaroslavl and Tula regions, where Ukrainian drones also inflicted damage on the enemy's fuel infrastructure.

As a result, the situation in Ukraine remains highly tense, with the need for international support and enhanced defense capabilities becoming ever more pressing. A vital part of this process is Ukraine's active diplomatic engagement on the global stage, which can help strengthen its defense capacity and secure additional resources to counter the aggression.

As Ukraine braces for further assaults, new intelligence suggests that Russia may be planning a large-scale attack utilizing advanced missile technology, including the Oreshnik missile. This potential escalation highlights the urgent need for enhanced defensive measures, as detailed in the latest updates from President Zelenskyy.
