Global Campaign Marks 40th Anniversary of the Chernobyl Disaster
Ukrainian diplomats have launched an international campaign timed to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe, aimed at reminding the global community of ongoing nuclear safety threats stemming from Russian actions. The initiative highlights Russia’s occupation of the Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plants, a drone strike that breached the protective shell of the New Safe Confinement structure, attacks on energy infrastructure, and nuclear blackmail tactics.
