Deputy Head of the Presidential Office meets with U.S. Brigadier General Allen Pepper
Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa held talks with the newly appointed U.S. military attaché to Ukraine, Brigadier General Allen Pepper. The discussion centered on the current security landscape in Ukraine, the most pressing needs of the country’s defense forces, and ways to enhance bilateral coordination. Palisa also expressed gratitude to Pepper’s predecessor, Brigadier General Brad Nicholson, acknowledging years of productive collaboration, open dialogue, and steadfast support for Ukraine.
“We reviewed the security situation, the urgent requirements of Ukraine’s defense forces, and next steps for coordinating our joint efforts,” Palisa said.
He emphasized that the partnership with the United States remains a cornerstone of Ukraine’s efforts to strengthen its defense capabilities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has likewise stated that equipping Ukraine with modern air defense systems and missiles is the top priority of its international engagement.
Ongoing cooperation with global allies
Ukraine continues to work closely with the United States and European partners to implement agreements on air defense, reflecting the country’s determination to bolster its security and military readiness amid the ongoing situation. The meeting between Pavlo Palisa and Allen Pepper marks another step in deepening the defense relationship between Kyiv and Washington.
This engagement underscores the critical role of international backing for Ukraine as it faces significant security challenges. Cooperation with the United States—particularly in the defense sector—remains strategically vital for ensuring stability and protecting the country’s territorial integrity. U.S. support, especially in air defense, could substantially enhance Ukraine’s ability to counter regional threats effectively.
