The Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans noted that Ukraine demonstrates resilience and a technological advantage in modern military conflicts. According to Brekelmans, Ukraine possesses technologies that effectively counter threats and protect its territory, while NATO employs more expensive aircraft.
'We see that Ukraine significantly outpaces us in its ability to effectively counter these threats. Ukraine has technologies, drones, drone combat systems, and operational skills to defend the entire country. Meanwhile, NATO has to use F-35s and F-16s to destroy cheap drones.'
He stated that in recent weeks, European countries have felt the approach of the Russian threat, which jeopardizes security. Brekelmans emphasized that Ukraine faces large-scale Russian aggression on a daily basis, and should be taken as an example in matters of security.
The minister also noted the impressive fighting spirit of Ukrainians, their perseverance, and their capacity for innovation. He urged Europe to adopt this spirit and take greater responsibility for its own security, acting promptly to ensure strength in defense.
Support from allies and recognition of Ukraine’s capabilities and strengths in the military sphere are crucial elements in ensuring security and the rapid development of the country. This also highlights the importance of cooperation and mutual understanding among countries in the context of modern geopolitical challenges.
