Additionally, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has contributed vital energy equipment, with Ukraine urging expedited delivery of power transformers to frontline areas ahead of the winter season.
Koretsky stressed the significance of expanding partnership opportunities, stating, “Ukraine is ready to create favorable conditions for joint ventures.” Discussions included inviting Japanese companies to invest in energy and infrastructure projects, alongside plans to implement an insurance mechanism that will protect entrepreneurs from the risks posed by ongoing hostilities.
Backing Ukraine’s Agricultural Sector
Agriculture was a key topic, with the Ukrainian government announcing an additional 6 billion hryvnias in support for farmers through the 'Affordable Loans 5-7-9%' program. This initiative aims to assist the agricultural community amid challenges, especially as Ukrainian agricultural exports are projected to decline by 54% to approximately 29.6 million tons in the 2026–2027 marketing year, largely due to Russian attacks on Black Sea ports.
This meeting underscores the critical role of international partnerships in maintaining Ukraine’s economic resilience during wartime. Strengthening ties with Japan is expected to advance infrastructure restoration, enhance energy security, and mobilize investments—factors essential for Ukraine’s recovery and long-term stability amid ongoing conflict.
As part of its efforts to support the agricultural sector, the Ukrainian government has announced a significant allocation of 6 billion hryvnias aimed at aiding farmers impacted by ongoing conflicts.
