Ukraine and Poland are implementing joint agreements in the sphere of historical memory regarding the Volhynia tragedy, conducting preparatory work for the search for victims in the village of Uhly in the Rivne region. This visit of specialists marks the first stage of preparations for large-scale search operations planned for spring 2026.

Main Stages of Research

The main stage of research is scheduled for March-April 2026. The work is being carried out in accordance with the joint agreements of the Ukrainian-Polish working group on issues of historical memory, as recorded in the final communiqué of 2025. This initiative aims not only to honor the memory of the victims but also to promote dialogue between the two countries regarding their shared history.
