High-Level Meeting on Ukraine's Road Repair Progress
Acting Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko chaired a strategy session focused on the nation's road rehabilitation efforts, joined by Ministers Oleksii Kuleba, Mykhailo Fedorov, and Serhii Marchenko. Currently, 203 repair crews—comprising roughly 2,000 road workers—are deployed daily. Major work on international highways concluded on May 1, shifting the focus to national roads. This ongoing campaign is a key part of Ukraine's broader infrastructure recovery amid wartime challenges.
So far, crews have restored 8.5 million square meters of pavement. By June 1, the government targets at least 10 million square meters, with the potential to hit 12 million—representing about 45% of the annual plan. To fund these efforts, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 3 billion from the reserve fund in March, with UAH 12.6 billion earmarked for road repair and maintenance in 2026.
