Today at the ReBuild Ukraine conference in Warsaw, Ukraine received grants of €75 million from the EU and the EIB. First Deputy Minister Aliona Shkrum signed a grant for the restoration of water supply systems for €25 million, which will allow communities to improve the quality of drinking water and modernize wastewater treatment facilities. A grant of €50 million was also signed for the development of social rental housing in pilot communities.
“This funding is an investment in real reconstruction and a new quality of life for people. It's about clean water, modern networks, affordable and safe housing, and modernized municipal infrastructure. At the same time, it is a strategic signal of support from the EU, as international partners confirm their readiness to invest in the reconstruction and development of Ukrainian communities,” emphasized First Deputy Minister Aliona Shkrum.
The grants were signed by representatives of the Ukrainian service of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood Policy, the European Investment Bank, and the Ukrainian government in collaboration with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
Thus, the signing of grants for €75 million in Warsaw is an important step towards the recovery and development of Ukrainian communities, aimed at improving access to clean water and creating modern and energy-efficient housing.
