Ukraine is actively developing its own production of weapons and ammunition to reduce dependence on foreign partners. In an interview with the BBC, the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, shared that the country has made significant progress in producing various types of armaments, including drones, artillery shells, and armored vehicles.
Although some components are still sourced from abroad, Ukraine is actively working on increasing its own production. Special emphasis is placed on anti-aircraft missile systems and requests for long-range missiles. It is noteworthy that U.S. Deputy President Jay D. Vance expressed support for considering Ukrainian requests for military assistance.
General Havryliuk also emphasized that potential missile strikes deep into Russian territory could force Moscow to seek a diplomatic exit from the conflict, as the cost of prolonging the war for them will become increasingly high.
