Ukrainians in Poland can receive a pension: requirements for experience and payment amounts

Українці, які проживають у Польщі, мають можливість отримати пенсійні виплати: що потрібно знати про досвід роботи та розміри виплат.

Pensions for Ukrainians in Poland

Ukrainians working in Poland can receive pensions under the international agreement on social security signed in 2012. To receive a pension, several requirements must be met, including having the appropriate work experience in both Ukraine and Poland.

According to the agreement, the total experience required is at least 20 years for women and 25 years for men. This means that Ukrainians who have the necessary work experience in both countries can expect to receive a pension in Poland. Additionally, it is important to have legalized permanent residence in Poland and to work in official positions that contribute to pension funds.

Minimum Pensions in Poland

In 2025, the minimum pension in Poland will be 1878 zlotys gross, which after taxes equals 1709 zlotys net. In terms of Ukrainian currency, this is approximately 21972 hryvnias. The forecast for 2026 indicates an increase in the minimum pension to 1970 zlotys gross, which will be around 23049 hryvnias.

Thus, Ukrainians who meet all requirements can receive pension payments, which will be an important support in their lives abroad.

The receipt of pensions by Ukrainians in Poland under the international agreement is an important aspect of social security, especially in the context of labor migration.

This allows Ukrainian citizens not only to ensure financial support in old age but also to improve their living conditions while staying abroad. Considering work experience in both countries contributes to the integration of Ukrainians into Polish society and economy, which can positively affect their social status and well-being.
