New Fuel Price Hike Expected Across Ukraine

Очікується нове підвищення цін на паливо в усіх регіонах України.

Fuel Price Changes in Ukraine

As of June 6, 2026, Ukrainian gas station networks have updated their fuel prices. The average cost of A-95 gasoline is approximately 76.70 UAH per liter, while diesel fuel stands at 86.84 UAH per liter. The price increases are driven by the shutdown of a major oil refinery and the country's heavy reliance on imported petroleum products, which now account for over 85% of supply. Specifically, fuel delivery volumes in March remained at 2025 levels, yet diesel prices surged by 86% between February 26 and March 31.

A key objective factor behind the rising prices is that, since last year, after the halt of Ukraine's largest oil refinery, nearly all light petroleum products—more than 85%—depend on imports. According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, average prices at Ukrainian gas stations rose more slowly: gasoline by 16% and diesel by 39%.

Cashback Program Impact and Price Variation

The cashback program, active from March 20 to May 31, 2026, also influenced the market. It was used by 2.3 million Ukrainians, who received 15% compensation on diesel fuel, 10% on gasoline, and 5% on autogas.

The market shows significant price variation across different gas station networks. The most expensive gasoline and diesel are offered by OKKO, WOG, and Socar chains. Meanwhile, the cheapest fuel can be found at Ukrnafta and BRSM-Nafta stations. For instance, A-95 costs 74.90 UAH/L at UPG, 78.90 UAH/L at OKKO, and 78.90 UAH/L at WOG.

At UPG stations, prices for all fuel types dropped by 1 UAH, with a similar reduction seen at OKKO and WOG, where gas prices fell by 1 UAH. At the same time, diesel prices in Ukraine have risen by 33.9%, a significant increase for drivers and vehicle owners.

The Antimonopoly Committee has found no evidence of monopolistic practices in the fuel market, suggesting a certain level of competition. However, the economic situation and global market trends continue to heavily influence fuel prices in Ukraine.

The rise in fuel prices in Ukraine reflects not only domestic economic challenges but also global market trends, such as fluctuations in oil prices and changes in supply. Given the high dependence on imports, stable supplies and the development of the domestic refining industry remain crucial.
