Natalia Tataryntseva's Outrage Over Collaboration with Denisova

Natalia Tataryntseva, who served as the host of the talent show 'Dances. World of Dance,' has voiced her frustration over working with choreographer Denisova, who returned to Russia after the full-scale war began. She recounted how entire segments, including her own introductions, were removed from the program during editing. Tataryntseva also noted that she has had no contact with Denisova since the fallout.

Before the large-scale conflict, Tataryntseva and Denisova collaborated on 'Dances. World of Dance.' However, during the editing process, all scenes involving the judges—including Tataryntseva and Zhenya Kot—were cut. Tataryntseva expressed that this leaves her with 'a feeling of regret' and sadness, as 'it could have been a really great show' given the high-quality footage the team captured. She stated,

'This is a complete devaluation of the work,'
— Natalia Tataryntseva, attributing the outcome to circumstances beyond her control.

The Situation Surrounding Denisova

Denisova, who spent years as a choreographer in Ukraine and appeared on the show 'Dancing with the Stars,' left the country after the war started and returned to Russia. Her ex-husband, Oleksandr Kryvoshapko, revealed in 2022 that she had already obtained Russian citizenship by the end of 2021. Tataryntseva expressed shock and indignation at this decision, adding:

'What can you do with someone who has removed their brain from their head and moved it somewhere else? It makes absolutely no sense,'
— Natalia Tataryntseva.

  • Denisova was born on February 11, 1980, in the Kaliningrad region.
  • She lived in Sevastopol from the age of two.
  • She earned her higher education at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
  • In 2004, she founded her own dance troupe, which toured across Europe.
  • In 2016, she became a mentor on the Russian project 'Dances.'

This situation surrounding Tataryntseva and Denisova's collaboration continues to spark discussion, highlighting the complexities of artistic relationships amid war. The conflict between these figures mirrors a broader crisis in the cultural sector, where personal and professional ties are strained by political realities. A lack of communication and fractured partnerships could have long-term repercussions for Ukraine's cultural landscape, which is already striving to preserve its identity and nurture talent during these difficult times.
