Український веслувальник здобув срібну медаль на змаганнях у Словенії.

Victoria Us Shines with Silver at World Cup

Ukrainian canoe slalom athlete Victoria Us claimed a silver medal at the first stage of the World Cup, held in Tacen, Slovenia. The achievement marks a significant milestone in her career, as it came in the highly competitive kayak cross discipline.

Us posted a time of 63.14 seconds in the final race, earning her second place. Switzerland's Alena Marx took gold with an even stronger performance, while France's Angèle Hug secured bronze. Throughout the competition, Us demonstrated her skill by advancing through multiple rounds.

  • She finished second in the preliminary round, behind Lea Novak.
  • In the quarterfinals, she again placed second, trailing Evy Leibfarth of the United States.
  • The semifinal saw Us finish third, narrowly losing to both Alena Marx and Evy Leibfarth.

Notably, Evy Leibfarth was disqualified after a video review for a mistake on the second-to-last section, which opened the door for Us to advance to the final.

This medal is Us's second in kayak cross, following her successful performance at the Krakow World Cup stage in 2022. It also represents her sixth career podium finish at the Tacen course, underscoring her consistent high level of preparation. Overall, Us has now crossed the milestone of ten World Cup medals, a remarkable achievement in her career.

Looking Ahead

Us's silver-medal performance at the Tacen World Cup highlights her excellent athletic results and readiness for future competitions.

Her success on the world stage reflects her growing prominence as an international athlete and opens up further opportunities for participation in upcoming events. Given her consistent results, she is expected to continue vying for medals at subsequent World Cup stages and other prestigious tournaments, which could boost the profile of canoe slalom in Ukraine.

As Ukrainian athletes continue to excel on the international stage, Ukrainian climbers have also recently set impressive records at the World Cup, showcasing the country's growing prowess in various sports. This highlights a broader trend of Ukrainian athletes achieving remarkable feats across different disciplines, further solidifying their reputation in the competitive world of sports.
