Ukrainian Students Shine at INFOMATRIX World Finals 2026

Students from the Polytechnic Lyceum of NTUU 'KPI' in Kyiv competed in the international finals of INFOMATRIX World Finals 2026, held in Bucharest, Romania. Their team, AKSZ, earned a silver medal for the FINDFIRST project—an artificial intelligence-driven system designed to locate missing individuals during disasters and emergencies. Participation in this event was made possible through the support of the Betking Foundation, which is part of the King Group.

The INFOMATRIX World Finals 2026 took place as a 24-hour hackathon, drawing participants from over 40 countries. The Ukrainian silver-medal team showcased exceptional programming skills and knowledge. A second Ukrainian team, KMP 2.0, presented a platform for exchanging goods and food during emergencies and natural disasters. Both teams demonstrated strong engineering thinking and critical analysis abilities.

Impact of the Presented Projects

“These children showed more than just coding knowledge—they displayed mature engineering thinking and emotional intelligence. Creating a tool that saves lives requires someone who can think critically, work in a team, and see real human problems. It is these skills that make them winners. This level of competence proves that Ukrainian youth can solve global problems on par with the best international teams.” — Pavlo Zhurylo, founder of the Betking Foundation

Founded by Pavlo Zhurylo, the Betking Foundation is part of the King Group. Supporting initiatives like this helps Ukrainian students showcase their talents on the global stage and fosters the development of innovative technologies in Ukraine. The success of the AKSZ team at the international level highlights the immense potential of young people and their readiness to tackle complex societal challenges.

This participation by Ukrainian teams in an international competition not only underscores their technical expertise but also demonstrates the capabilities of youth in addressing global challenges. The projects presented at the contest have real-world applications and could significantly improve living conditions during extreme situations. Each achievement on such a platform represents a crucial step for Ukraine in advancing innovation and technology, thereby strengthening its position on the global map of education and science.

As Ukrainian students continue to gain international recognition for their innovative projects, it's essential to note that their participation in global tech events is on the rise. Recently, a significant delegation of students was sent to the world's largest tech expo, showcasing the growing support for young talent in the technology sector. This momentum not only highlights the capabilities of Ukrainian youth but also emphasizes the importance of nurturing their development in a competitive global landscape.
