Ukrainian Paralympians became the first at the World Rowing Championship

The national Paralympic team of Ukraine in academic rowing became the first at the World Championship in Shanghai. As reported by 'Glavcom'.


Our athletes won 1 gold and 2 silver medals and took first place for the total number of awards and second for the number of gold medals.


Our medalists at the World Championship-2025:



  • “Gold”:
    Anna Sheremet
    (PR1W1x) – became the world champion for the first time.

  • “Silver”:
    Roman Polyansky
    (PR1M1x).

  • “Silver”:
    Daria Kotek / Stanislav Samolyuk
    (PR3Mix 2x).



It is worth noting that Ukraine entered the top 10 of the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, taking 10th place. The Ukrainian team's achievements include: 5 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze medals.


This is the second most successful performance of Ukraine in the history of participation in the Festivals since 1993! The 'blue-yellow' team only earned more medals in 2019 – when there were 25 awards.


The most successful sport was judo – our athletes won six medals, including bronze in the mixed team tournament on the final competition day.


In addition to judo, medals for Ukraine were earned by representatives of sports such as swimming (2 gold, 2 silver and bronze), athletics (gold, silver and 2 bronzes), taekwondo (2 silver and bronze), shooting (silver and bronze), artistic gymnastics (silver and bronze) and table tennis (bronze).



The Ukrainian team in academic rowing became the winner of the World Rowing Championship. Our athletes secured 1 gold and 2 silver medals, taking first overall and second in the number of gold medals. At the same time, Ukrainian athletes continue to delight with their successes at international competitions, demonstrating a high level of training and professionalism.
