Ukrainian Defense Forces Launch Strikes on Russian Soil
On the night of April 30, Ukrainian defense forces targeted strategic sites inside Russia. They hit the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in the Orenburg region, along with Russian Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters stationed in the Voronezh region. These operations were carried out on April 29 and during the early hours of April 30.
The refinery in Orsk sustained direct hits, sparking a fire. This facility has a design capacity of 6.6 million tons of oil per year and produces over 30 types of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, and aviation kerosene. It supplies the Russian occupation army.
Military Assets Also Destroyed
Additionally, Ukrainian forces struck a Tor-M2 air defense system near Oleksandrivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. They also hit an artillery brigade command post in Lysychansk, located in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk, and an ammunition depot near Kremenivka in the occupied Donetsk region. A target was also engaged at a base for enemy boats in the Black Sea. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed by the General Staff.
These attacks highlight the growing intensity of Ukrainian operations on enemy territory, aimed at crippling the resources that sustain Russia's war effort. Strikes on strategic sites like oil refineries can severely disrupt Russian military logistics. Moreover, successful hits on military equipment and ammunition depots underscore the effectiveness of Ukrainian intelligence and the use of modern combat tactics in the conflict.
The recent strikes on the Orsk oil refinery and military assets reflect a significant escalation in Ukraine's tactical operations. This mirrors previous successful attacks on Russian facilities, which have targeted key infrastructure to undermine military logistics.
