Strikes on Russian Targets
In the early hours of January 26, Ukraine's Defense Forces launched strikes against targets within the Russian Federation and temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, hitting an oil refinery and multiple supply depots. Ukrainian military units successfully targeted infrastructure at the 'Slavyansk Eco' oil refinery, a facility with an annual processing capacity exceeding 4 million tons of oil.
Drone impacts were confirmed at the refinery site, with subsequent explosions reported in the target area. Preliminary information indicates that elements of the primary oil processing unit were damaged. The Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reported that the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
Supply Depots and Command Posts Hit
In addition to the refinery strike, Ukrainian forces also hit material and technical supply depots used by Russian units in the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. A command post for unmanned aerial vehicles in the Velyka Novosilka area of occupied Donetsk region was also struck. Further strikes targeted concentrations of enemy personnel in Yunakivka (Sumy region) and Kolisnikivka (Kharkiv region).
These operations come amid a broader increase in military activity across the region. On the same night, the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban in Russia's Krasnodar Krai also came under drone attack, highlighting the expanding scope of these engagements.
These strikes form part of Ukraine's strategic efforts to degrade enemy military infrastructure and reduce its capacity to sustain combat operations.
As the conflict continues, such attacks on logistical and command nodes can significantly impact the operational readiness of Russian forces. The heightened military activity on both sides suggests the potential for further escalation along the front lines in the coming period.
