Ukraine's junior diving squad delivered an impressive performance at the European Junior Diving Championships, which recently concluded in Budapest. The team secured third place in gold medal count and finished second overall in total points. With 158 athletes from 27 nations competing, Ukraine wrapped up the tournament with 14 medals: 3 gold, 3 silver, and 8 bronze.

Medalists and Key Achievements

Among Ukraine's gold medalists, Nazariy Kononenko triumphed on the 1m springboard in Group B, while Alina Polonets claimed two golds: one on the 3m springboard and another on the 1m springboard, both in Group B. Silver medals were awarded to:

  • Nazariy Kononenko and Valeriy Malyeyev in synchronized platform diving;
  • Nazariy Kononenko on the platform in Group B;
  • Alina Polonets and Daria Polyakova on the 3m springboard in synchronized diving.

Bronze medals went to:

  • Sofia Vystavkina, Yelyzaveta Dyadyuk, Nazariy Kononenko, and Valeriy Malyeyev in the mixed team event;
  • Sofia Esman and Diana Shevchenko in synchronized platform diving;
  • Dmytro Stepanov, Sofia Vystavkina, Valeriy Malyeyev, and Kseniia Bochek in various categories.

In other sports news, Ukraine's women's tennis team continues its international campaign. They are set to face Belgium in the quarterfinals of the Billie Jean King Cup. The final stage matches will take place from September 22 to 27 in Shenzhen, China.
