Targeted Strikes by Ukrainian Military Forces
Ukrainian troops successfully hit a Russian high-speed patrol boat, Project 12150 Mongoose, anchored in Sevastopol’s Kozacha Bay. This vessel measures approximately 20 meters in length and can reach speeds exceeding 90 km/h (50 knots). It typically operates with a crew of up to six and serves roles including maritime patrol, area security, and countering small-scale threats, according to military sources.
In addition to this naval strike, Ukrainian forces targeted several key Russian military installations within temporarily occupied regions, including Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk oblasts. Notably, in Olenivka, the following assets were destroyed:
- an electronic warfare antenna complex;
- a radio-transparent dome antenna belonging to a command and measurement unit in Vitino;
- a drone storage, preparation, and launch site used for Russian strike UAVs near Donetsk;
- a drone depot in Dokuchaievsk;
- an ammunition storage facility for the Rubikon unit in Fashchivka;
- and an ammunition warehouse of Russian troops in Selydove.
Air and Radar Targets Hit in Southern Russia and Crimea
During the night of September 8-9, Ukraine’s Defense Forces conducted precision strikes against Russian military targets in Novorossiysk and Anapa. These operations resulted in the destruction of two Russian radar stations near Gelendzhik, as well as the downing of a Su-33 fighter jet and a Mi-8 helicopter. Earlier, on September 7, Ukrainian drone operators successfully engaged a Russian military aircraft in temporarily occupied Crimea.
These ongoing offensive actions highlight Ukraine’s commitment to dismantling Russia’s military infrastructure across occupied territories, aiming to degrade enemy operational capabilities significantly. By neutralizing critical assets such as patrol boats and ammunition depots, Ukraine seeks to reduce the effectiveness of Russian forces and bolster the defense of its own territory.
