Marta Kostyuk Triumphs at the WTA 1000 Madrid Open

Ukrainian tennis star Marta Kostyuk has climbed to 15th in the WTA rankings following her victory at the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid. In the final, Kostyuk defeated Russia's Mirra Andreeva, securing an eight-place jump in the standings. This marks her second consecutive WTA title, as she previously won the WTA 250 event in Rouen just before Madrid. Her current winning streak now stands at 12 matches, and the 15th spot represents a career-best ranking for the athlete.

Two Ukrainians Among WTA's Elite

Svitolina dropped three places after exiting in the second round of the Madrid tournament. Currently, the WTA top 10 has seen six changes. Aryna Sabalenka leads with 10,110 points, followed by Elena Rybakina in second with 8,555 points. Iga Swiatek has reclaimed third place, overtaking Coco Gauff, who fell to fourth with 6,749 points.
