The impact of heat on Europe's economy
Earlier it was reported that on Thursday and Friday, July 17-18, a wave of fresh air will break through across most of Ukraine. The temperature indicators will temporarily decrease, but hellish heat will return in just a few days.
Moreover, July 2025 in Europe began with a new wave of heat. Research by leading economist of the European Central Bank (ECB) Miles Parker shows that such weather phenomena not only cause discomfort to the residents of European countries but also affect the economy. Abnormal heat can slow economic growth, raise prices, and impact the standard of living. A new study titled
Does abnormal heat drive us crazy?, published on the official ECB blog, analyzes the impact of heat on the economy and prices.
The weather conditions in Ukraine promise heavy rains in certain regions, while others experience thunderstorms and squally winds. This could lead to complications in the operations of enterprises and traffic movements. In Europe, researchers are warning of possible negative impacts of abnormal heat on the economy and prices, which may affect the standard of living on the continent.
