Power Stations for Children with Disabilities Now Being Delivered
Ukraine's national postal service, Ukrposhta, has begun shipping portable power stations to eligible children with disabilities. The first shipments have already arrived at the company's logistics terminals, with nationwide distribution to applicants now underway. This initiative is designed to provide children with critical equipment to power essential medical and assistive devices, a vital need in a country where energy infrastructure has been heavily impacted.
Applications for the power stations will be accepted until April 1, 2026. Parents, guardians, or legal representatives of children under 18 with a 'Subgroup A' disability classification who are residing in Ukraine are eligible to apply. The program aims to improve living conditions for children with disabilities and enhance their ability to use necessary technical aids.
Program Implementation and Partners
The program is being implemented by Ukraine's Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity through the Pension Fund of Ukraine. Key partners in the project include:
- Ministry of Energy of Ukraine
- State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine
- JSC Ukrposhta
Funding is provided from the state budget via Ukraine's Decarbonization Fund.
This effort is part of the Ukrainian government's broader commitment to supporting children with disabilities. Providing this equipment can significantly improve their quality of life and foster greater social inclusion. The extended application period until 2026 is intended to ensure as many eligible families as possible can benefit from the program. Such initiatives reflect the state's ongoing obligations to ensure social protection for vulnerable populations during a period of national crisis.
