Starting September 23, Ukrposhta Prioritizes Parcel Senders at Urban Branches with Multiple Service Windows

З 23 вересня Укрпошта надає перевагу відправникам посилок у міських відділеннях, що мають кілька вікон обслуговування.

Updates to Ukrposhta’s Service Procedures

Beginning September 23, 2026, Ukrposhta will adjust the order of service at city branches that have two or more service windows. The new system gives precedence to customers sending parcels, while those coming to collect parcels will be served afterward. This change responds to ongoing wartime challenges, including air raid alerts, shelling, and forced route adjustments, all of which place extra strain on the nationwide logistics network.

Igor Smiliansky, CEO of Ukrposhta, explained that prioritizing parcel dispatch will reduce delays at the start of delivery routes and accelerate shipments. Both senders and recipients are now asked to inform branch staff about the service type to ensure smooth queue management.

Expanded Service Options

This revised priority system complements existing service formats in urban branches, such as express windows and internal parcel lockers. Express windows cater to quick transactions like sending or receiving parcels, and may offer other services when not busy.

  • By autumn 2026, 601 internal parcel lockers will be operational across branches nationwide.
  • As of this announcement, 581 lockers have already been installed, reaching nearly 97% of the target.
  • These internal parcel lockers allow customers to pick up parcels independently using a code, eliminating the need to wait in line or interact with staff.

“In wartime, every minute counts. The faster we process a parcel, the sooner it reaches its recipient. That’s why sending and receiving parcels will take priority. Pension payments, social benefits, bills, and letters remain equally important. We respect every customer’s time. Our team’s goal is to ensure the most efficient operations and rapid delivery during these difficult times.”

These service changes aim to boost logistical efficiency amid the ongoing conflict, where timely delivery is critical. Prioritizing parcel dispatch helps reduce bottlenecks and streamlines operations, potentially improving customer experience overall. The rollout of internal parcel lockers further decreases queues and enhances convenience for parcel recipients. Ukrposhta’s adjustments demonstrate its commitment to meeting customer needs and adapting effectively to the challenges posed by wartime conditions.
