United's New 'Relax Row' Service
United Airlines has announced a new offering for economy class passengers called Relax Row, which will enable them to sleep in a fully flat position during flights. This service is scheduled to launch in 2027 and will be available on the airline's wide-body aircraft. This move is part of a broader industry trend to enhance the long-haul travel experience beyond the premium cabins.
The Relax Row concept involves a bank of seats that can be converted into lie-flat beds. Each seat will be equipped with a mattress and special footrests to provide additional comfort. Passengers will also receive blankets, pillows, and a children's toy set, making journeys more pleasant, especially for families traveling together.
Future Expansion Plans
United plans to install Relax Row zones on more than 200 of its Boeing 787 and Boeing 777 wide-body aircraft by 2030. Each aircraft will feature 12 Relax Row sections, significantly upgrading the service quality for a portion of its economy class passengers.
