Ukrnafta Facilities Under Fire
No casualties were reported after the large-scale overnight strike, according to Naftogaz. Employees and customers at the targeted fuel stations were unharmed. The Russian military launched a heavy attack on seven Ukrnafta sites in eastern Ukraine, severely damaging critical equipment and forcing parts of the operation to shut down, leading to significant losses in crude oil and gas production. Over the past day, four UKRNAFTA filling stations in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions also came under fire.

The assault is part of a broader pattern. In the first seven months of 2026, Russian shelling destroyed or damaged 37 fuel station complexes operated by the Naftogaz Group. That list includes 32 UKRNAFTA filling stations and five Ukrgazvydobuvannia facilities. Some of the damaged stations have been restored, but others remain out of service because of extensive damage.
Serhii Fedorenko, a Naftogaz spokesperson, said, "Russia is systematically attacking Ukrainian oil and gas production to maximize infrastructure damage ahead of winter. Last night's strike on Ukrnafta facilities was the most massive in recent times. Fortunately, there were no casualties."
The situation is still tense, and further strikes on energy infrastructure cannot be ruled out.
