Restoration of energy supply in Ukraine
The government of Ukraine continues active measures to restore the country's energy supply after enemy shelling. Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko reported that, thanks to Cabinet decisions, it was possible to add 1 GW of electric capacity to the grid. This has become possible due to the review of critical infrastructure objects, highlighting the importance of control over energy resources during difficult conditions.
The government is also providing residential buildings with large-capacity generators in the Kyiv regions, which is an important step to support the population during energy crises. Additionally, extra resilience points are being deployed across the country to provide citizens with necessary resources and support in crisis situations.
Ensuring energy stability
Yulia Sviridenko emphasized the need to ensure fuel reserves, stating that
“our task is to ensure resource availability and price stability.”She also pointed out that
“enemy attacks, low temperatures, and network icing create additional pressure on the system.”In this regard, the government coordinates its efforts with retail networks and works on the quickest restoration of generation and increasing electricity imports to ensure the stability of energy supply in Ukraine.
In the context of ongoing military actions in Ukraine, especially during the winter period, ensuring energy stability becomes critically important. The restoration of capacities and provision of residential buildings with generators are necessary steps to support the population in conditions of unstable energy supply. Such measures not only increase readiness for crises but also demonstrate the government's efforts to support citizens in difficult conditions.
