The Dutch government has decided to grant Ukrainian refugees a three-year residence permit after the Temporary Protection Directive expires in 2027. This will allow Ukrainians to prepare for their return to Ukraine and also receive some support during their adaptation to new conditions.
Additionally, the Dutch government, together with municipalities and housing corporations, plans to move Ukrainian refugees from municipal shelters to housing. The program involves the participation of 40,000 Ukrainians, while currently, 135,010 refugees from Ukraine are registered in the country, of which 61% are already working.
