Additional Funding for Road Repairs

The Ukrainian government has allocated an extra 3 billion hryvnias from the state budget's reserve fund for repairs to nationally significant highways. This funding is directed towards international and national routes, which will help improve the condition of the country's road infrastructure. This investment is part of ongoing efforts to modernize critical transport links.

Scale and Results of the Work

More than 140 crews, comprising over 1,100 workers, are repairing approximately 40,000 square meters of pavement on state roads across the country every day. The daily repair volume is expected to reach 100,000–150,000 square meters. Since the start of the year, nearly 220,000 square meters of road surface damage have already been eliminated, demonstrating the active pace of this work.

Key international highways currently undergoing repairs include the following areas:

  • M-05 Kyiv-Odesa – 10,521.4 m²
  • M-06 Kyiv-Chop – 6,802 m²
  • M-14 Odesa-Melitopol – 1,510 m²
  • M-19 Domanove - Kovel - Chernivtsi - Terebleche (towards Bucharest) – 1,007 m²
  • M-21 Vystupovychi - Zhytomyr - Mohyliv-Podilskyi – 4,833 m²
  • M-28 Odesa - Yuzhne – 3,700 m²

These repairs are crucial for ensuring road safety and improving transport accessibility in the regions.

The allocation of additional funds for road repairs highlights the state's focus on infrastructure development, which is vital for economic growth and improving citizens' quality of life. Enhancing the condition of road surfaces, especially on international routes, can also foster tourism and business development by providing more reliable and safer transport corridors. The continued active work of road crews may positively impact the regional economy through job creation and increased purchasing power for the population.
