Україна виділяє 8,3 мільярда гривень для посилення обороноздатності та національної безпеки.

Defense Funding Distribution

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved the allocation of 8.3 billion hryvnias from the 2026 state budget reserve to bolster the country's security and defense sectors. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced that the funds will be distributed among the following agencies:

  • Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)
  • Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense
  • Foreign Intelligence Service
  • State Guard Department
  • State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection

These resources are designated to cover defense and security needs, including military salaries, upgrades to logistical infrastructure, and advancements in intelligence capabilities. Just prior to this, the government also redirected 220 million hryvnias in unused budget allocations originally set for the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities to support the Defense Forces.

Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized: 'We are consistently enhancing the capabilities of our Security and Defense Forces to ensure they have everything needed to protect Ukraine and respond effectively to Russian terror.'

This decision underscores Ukraine's ongoing commitment to reinforcing its defensive posture amid the prolonged military aggression from Russia. By increasing funding for security and defense, the government aims to improve the readiness of the armed forces and related agencies to address current threats. Additionally, supporting military personnel compensation is expected to boost troop morale and motivation, which are critical for sustained operations. This move reflects a broader strategy to ensure that Ukraine's defense infrastructure remains resilient and adaptive to evolving challenges.

In light of the recent funding decisions, the government is also taking significant steps to enhance financial support for each combat unit. This initiative aims to ensure that all battalions are well-equipped and operationally prepared.
