Funding for Portable Power Station Purchases
The Ukrainian government has approved funding to purchase 2,000 portable power stations for children with disabilities in subgroup A. This support program, which previously financed the purchase and delivery of 10,000 such stations, will operate until April 1, 2026. The share of budget funds from the State Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency Transformation Fund allocated for these purchases has been increased to 30%, enabling the program's expansion to assist more families. This initiative is part of broader efforts to protect vulnerable citizens during the ongoing war, which has severely disrupted the nation's power grid.
Specifications and Application Process
The new portable stations have an approximate capacity of 2 kWh. The equipment is procured by the Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine JSC, with delivery handled by Ukrposhta JSC. Applications for the stations must be submitted through the territorial bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine before the specified deadline.
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized: 'Portable stations will be provided to children whose lives directly depend on a stable electricity supply. During power outages, they face a real threat to their health and lives.'
She also highlighted the importance of increasing the budget share for these procurements to facilitate the program's growth. Full program details are available on the official government platform.
This initiative represents a critical step in supporting families with children who have disabilities, for whom power loss can severely impact health and safety. The program's implementation through 2026 demonstrates the government's sustained commitment to energy resilience and supporting vulnerable populations, underscoring the priority of inclusivity in the nation's social programs.
