Free Portable Power Stations for Families of Children with Disabilities
The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved a program to distribute portable power stations free of charge to parents or guardians of children with disabilities in subgroup A. This initiative, formalized by Government Decree No. 107 on January 28, 2026, will transfer ownership of the devices to eligible families. This support is particularly crucial in a country where power supply can be unstable due to ongoing conflict.
The procurement of the portable power stations will be handled by the state-owned Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine. Distribution will be carried out through branches of Ukrposhta, the national postal service. To receive a device, an application must be submitted to the local office of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Required Application Information
The application must include details for one parent, guardian, or legal representative, as well as information about the child with a disability in subgroup A who is under 18 years old at the time of application. Furthermore, the application must contain data from the child's official medical certificate confirming the disability. The application period will remain open until April 1, 2026.
This government measure represents a significant step in supporting families raising children with disabilities, as portable power can ensure vital medical and assistive technologies remain operational. Utilizing the postal service for distribution provides convenient access for parents across the country.
This initiative could make a substantial contribution to improving the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.
