The government has decided to extend the compensation period for employers from frontline and war-affected regions. They will now receive compensation for 6 months instead of the previous 3 months. The program is also expanding to enterprises from other regions such as Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia.
'We aim to provide longer support for employers and to preserve jobs in the war-affected regions. The program will become more accessible for IDPs as we have streamlined the compensation application process', emphasized the Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Oleksii Sobolev.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the compensation will amount to the minimum wage (8000 UAH) for each employed IDP who pays the Unified Contribution for Social Insurance. Currently, over 32,000 compensation decisions have been issued for more than 57,000 employed individuals.
The government has increased the compensation period for employers in Donbas from 3 to 6 months, which will help preserve jobs and develop the economic potential of the regions affected by the war. The changes will also simplify the compensation process and expand the program to other regions of Ukraine.
