Internal Divisions Within Iran
Analyst Vitaliy Kulik, speaking on political expert Yuriy Romanenko's broadcast, has highlighted significant internal contradictions within Iran. He specifically pointed to a public rift between the regular armed forces, known as Artesh, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This division reveals a lack of unanimity and unity among the country's elite, signaling potential instability for the ruling regime. The IRGC is a powerful military, political, and economic force established after the 1979 revolution, often seen as a rival to the traditional army.
Kulik emphasized that the regime has historically distrusted the conventional military.
"For the first time, we are witnessing a public split between, for example, the Artesh and the IRGC. That is, Iran's Armed Forces, the traditional military... which, by the way, the regime did not trust,"the analyst noted. According to him, while a significant portion of the loyal population still supports the system, a segment of the elite is adopting a wait-and-see stance, anticipating further changes.

Kulik also believes the regime will hold on to power regardless.
"I do not currently see a revolutionary force capable of carrying out a revolution,"he added. This suggests that despite the internal contradictions, the Iranian regime has a chance of retaining its authority, although, in his view, it will emerge from the current period of conflict in a weakened state. These tensions occur against a backdrop of regional conflicts and domestic economic pressures.
