Ukraine has started the construction of another European railway. It will run from the border with Poland to Sknyliv, near Lviv. This was announced by the Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuiba, as reported by 'Hlavkom'.
"Today, together with the Director of the European Commission for Transport, Magda Kopczynska, we launched the construction of a European standard railway. Ukraine received a first grant of 73.5 million euros from the European Commission for this," Kuiba noted.
The new railway line will be approximately 80 km long and will significantly improve direct and joint connections between Ukraine and the European TEN-T network. The construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2027.
This project will be a joint part of the strategy for integrating the Ukrainian railway system into the European transport space. It will help develop logistics, increase trade efficiency, and strengthen physical connections between Ukraine and key EU transport corridors.
The construction of the second European railway in Ukraine is an important step in developing the country's transport links with Europe. This project will help improve railway infrastructure, increase trade efficiency, and contribute to Ukraine's integration into the European transport space.
